If you want a review of the Bible, I suggest reading it first, then reading about it. This review is geared toward this particular type of English Standard Version Bible, The ESV Large Print Thinline Reference Bible.
I read the ESV Study Bible (Kindle) in 2017. In 2018, I read The Message, Eugene Peterson's classic paraphrase. This year I went back to the ESV and to paper. At 60, my eyes are not what they used to be so I searched for something with larger print; but being the Bible, I did not want to carry around a massive paper brick. My solution, The ESV Large Print Thinline Reference Bible.
This worked really well for me. I read it devotionally and also used it when I preached. It was small enough to carry around in my backpack, and yet the print was large enough not to induce eye strain.
Note, this Bible is not only thin when it comes to thickness, it is "thin" when it comes to notes (which was a-okay for me). You get a few footnotes, no cross-references, a simple concordance, and a few maps. The leather is stout, the paper highly durable.
This is my everyday Bible (when I'm not using my ESV Study Bible on my phone), and I love it!
