The Old Man is no "old man." Aging, but with skills that transcend it, Dan Chase bolts from his life of Vermont seclusion. Past secrets and the onslaught of wet teams flush him out and put him on the run. Using his wits, wile and brawn the Old Man outsmarts, out muscles, and outlasts his pursuers. Great story. I put it on par with The Butcher's Boy.
How much do I like The Old Man? I've read it three times. That's probably it for me, but it is an exciting tale well told!
